The Problem
Global Group Aurum wanted to create a unique and truly compelling retail experience at the Watches of Switzerland store located in the highly prestigious Regent Street, London. Supplying high-end luxury watches such as Tag, Cartier, and Rolex, the store already attracted international attention but wanted to create a shopping experience that would truly reflect the luxurious products on offer. Innovation was a key part of Aurum’s brief, and our clients were keen to utilize technology to educate clients in an informative and engaging way. Working closely with hardware supplier, Box Technologies, the Acquire Digital team initially spent a lot of time assessing how the customer shopped, the products being sold and the experience they wished to create in-store, to better recommend the most relevant solutions. One of the main things they wanted to achieve was to be able to share the complex internal workings and mechanics of the individual watches with their customers. We wanted to provide content across HD screens to fully illustrate the intricate qualities of each of the products.
Our Solution
Another objective outlined by Aurum was to make the customer smarter. Currently one of the largest in the world, we created a breathtaking large-format interactive multi-touch video wall display. The intuitive system can display all file types such as videos, high-resolution images, PDFs, and web pages. These could be accessed and manipulated by the user (moved swiped, enlarged, and even flicked across the screen) in a seamless and responsive manner. Based on designs taken from a watch face we also created a compelling, giant user interface to complement the solution, which is successful at inviting customers and staff to simultaneously browse the brand and individual watches.
The Process
Another objective outlined by Aurum was to make the customer smarter. We created a breath-taking touch screen centre piece in the form of a large interactive multi touch screen, measuring 3x2 meters – currently one of the largest in the world. We developed a highly intuitive system able to display all file types such as videos, high-res images, PDFs, and web pages. These could be accessed and manipulated by the user (moved swiped, enlarged, and even flicked across the screen) in a seamless and responsive manner. Based on designs taken from a watch face we also created a compelling, giant user-interface to compliment the solution, which is successful at inviting customers and staff to simultaneously browse the brand and individual watches.
Outcomes
Although a custom-built project the solution is powered by Acquire’s core Content Management Engine and ensures that the system could be ran on full HD screens with minimum risk of juddering content and thus creating an impressive, super smooth experience.
