Background

Paine Field Airport (PAE) is a historic airport in Snohomish County, Seattle. PAE pride themselves on offering high-quality aviation services, which includes an award-winning airport terminal.

PAE’s airport terminal has a modern, customer-centric design, featuring fireplaces, exposed wood, fresh flowers and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Olympic Mountains. A world-class terminal needs a world-class FIDs board, which is where Acquire Digital and AeroCloud came in.

The Challenge

Paine Field Airport has a rich history. Although the airport terminal has a modern feel, the team at PAE wanted to ensure the airport’s history still shone through. To achieve this, they opted for a digital FIDs board, styled after a traditional flap board.

As the FIDs board is a centrepiece in the terminal, they needed high quality visuals combined with great tech to wow passengers while getting them to where they need to be. Accurate, visible information is the foundation of efficient airport operations. When passengers know exactly where to go and when, congestion decreases and staff intervention drops.
