Most comparison guides focus on what the software can display: 3D maps, turn-by-turn directions, multi-language support. Those are baseline expectations in 2026, not differentiators. The decision that actually matters for integrators is what happens after go-live, across dozens of sites, over years of change requests.

Customisable digital signage: configurable, or actually flexible?
Every vendor calls their platform customisable. Few mean the same thing by it. For an integrator, the real test is whether customisation happens through templates and colour schemes, or whether it extends to genuine bespoke deployment: custom kiosk hardware, branded interfaces, and integrations with a client's own systems.

Before committing to a wayfinding platform, integrators should be asking about three things a demo will not answer:

Can you manage and troubleshoot a network of sites remotely, or does every issue need a site visit? Platforms built with integrators in mind provide dedicated support and monitoring tools designed to reduce that overhead, not just end-user dashboards repurposed for technical support.
Recurring revenue structure
Does the commercial model reward you for ongoing support and expansion, or is it a single licence sale with nothing built in for the relationship afterwards? A platform designed around a partner ecosystem, rather than direct-to-end-user sales, tends to be structured with integrator margin in mind from the start.
Vendor lock-in
Does the platform require proprietary hardware, or does it work across the hardware you already spec and support? Hardware dependency limits flexibility and adds cost to every deployment, particularly across mixed estates where clients have existing equipment they want to keep using.
The real evaluation criterion
The wayfinding platforms worth building a business on in 2026 are not the ones with the longest feature list. They are the ones engineered as genuine infrastructure: deep enough to integrate with anything a campus, airport, or enterprise client throws at them, reliable enough for environments where downtime is not an option, and structured commercially so that supporting them is worth your time.
